Educator Development Core: The mission of the Educator Development Core (EDC) is to provide educator development initiatives across the VUSM continuum serving students, residents/fellows and faculty through UME, GME and faculty development. The EDC offers rounds, workshops, and other events open to all faculty members.

Department of Pediatrics Faculty Development Program:

This department has a well-developed faculty development program including a site with videos on promotion and how to prepare for your annual faculty review using the SMART plan.


Society for Education in Anesthesia

This organization, founded in 1985, supports MD anesthesiology educators through two annual meetings, an annual workshop on teaching (excellent), and on-line resources.

New in 2015: SEA has small grants to support education research and innovation.


Harvard Macy Institute

This well-established institute offers courses in all specialties for professional development for academic leaders in healthcare. Courses center on education, leadership and leading innovation.


American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC)

The AAMC has many courses offered in various US locations for leadership in academic medicine.

SGEA Southern Group on Educational Affairs
