Safety Climate Surveys

Patient safety is a critical component of health care quality. As health care organizations continually strive to improve, there is a growing recognition of the importance of establishing a culture of safety.  The safety culture of an institution is defined by the collective habits, processes and actions of their staff.  An understanding of that culture is an essential basis for improvement.  Several agencies have developed surveys for use in healthcare institutions.  Two of the most widely recognized are as follows:
