Attendance at Hands On is considered work time. Children or other family members should not accompany staff to this event.

Blood Administration BLOOD ADMINISTRATION (ADULT ONLY)*

Simulation of an adult blood transfusion..

n-95 N-95 RESPIRATOR FIT-TESTING
(Sessions begin approximately every 15 minutes)
Provided by Vanderbilt Environmental Health Services (VEHS)

Required annually for staff who provide care for patients on airborne precautions.

Before attending Hands On, download and complete the Particulate Respirator Approval Form.
Copies will also be available at Hands On.

Restraints RESTRAINTS
(Sessions begin on the hour and half hour)
Required for staff who initiate, monitor, and/or remove
a restraint OR any staff providing direct care for a patient in a restraint.
Offered on even years only.

POCT POINT OF CARE TESTING
(Rolling start times)

Offered for blood glucose  testing renewal only.

Know Your Numbers

Results can be used for your yearly Health Risk Assessments.

Computers will be available to complete ONLINE training requirements at Hands On. If you are not sure which requirements you need to complete, ask your supervisor.

If you went through Medical Center Orientation (It's Who We Are and Hearts & Minds) after July 1, 2018, you do not need to complete annual requirements at Hands On or online education requirements.

For unit specific competency offerings, please check with your unit educator.
 

Compliance
Licensed staff must maintain current licensure and all required job specific certifications (i.e. BLS, ACLS, etc.)

Licensed staff also must be in full compliance with Medical Center policies and regulations
