Basic Arrhythmia Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation (BACRI) Testing

Test Out Option

The Basic Arrhythmia Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation (BACRI) Test Out for VUH and Clinics is given to appropriate staff members during Clinical Orientation.

The BACRI Team manages the registration and testing within Clinical Orientation. Unit leadership does not need to register a staff member for the test out session during Clinical Orientation.

The BACRI Test Out Option is considered PASS or CLASS. A member of the BACRI team will notify unit leadership on the status of a new staff member upon completion of the test out session.

If an 85% or greater is scored on the test out, the staff member has completed the initial basic arrhythmia competency and does not need to attend the BACRI Course.

If a staff member scores less than an 85%, they simply need to attend a BACRI Course and test within 30 days of completion of the course.  Registration for the BACRI course and follow up testing within the Learning Exchange is the responsibility of unit leadership.

The test out option is still available for those staff members who are not registered to attend Clinical Orientation. Unit leadership can register the staff member for a testing session within the Learning Exchange.

Testing Post Class

Registration for a testing session after the completion of the course is done within the Learning Exchange (LMS). Please see link and instructions below.

Target Audience
