Vanderbilt Otolaryngology Services

Vanderbilt Medical Center (Adult Hospital)

  • General Otolaryngology: Includes facial plastics and reconstruction, facial trauma, laryngology, sleep, allergy, rhinology/sinus and skull base , and is the primary consultation service for adults at the Adult Hospital. The General Otolaryngology resident team is comprised of PGY-1, PGY-2, PGY-3, PGY-4, and PGY-5 residents. Upon achieving a full complement of 5 residents per year, this service will be split into the following teams with a single PGY-1 assisting both teams.
    • Rhinology, Sinus, Skull Base, Allergy, Sleep (PGY-3, PGY-5)
    • Facial Plastics and Reconstruction, Facial Trauma, Laryngology, Inpatient Consults (PGY-2, PGY-4, and PGY-5)
  • Head & Neck Service: Primarily serves our patients with head and neck neoplasms. The Head & Neck Service resident team is comprised of PGY-1, PGY-2, PGY-4 (2), and PGY-5 residents. The PGY-2 sees all established head and neck cancer inpatient consultations. Upon achieving a full complement of 5 residents per year, this service will comprise of PGY-1, PGY-2, PGY-3, PGY-4 (2), and PGY-5 residents.
  • Otology/Neurotology Service:  Manages conditions of the ear, hearing, and balance, as well as neurotologic skull base tumors and disorders. The Otology/Neurotology Service resident team is comprised of a PGY-3 and PGY-5. Upon achieving a full complement of 5 residents per year, this service will comprise of PGY-3, PGY-4, and PGY-5 residents.

Childrens Hospital at Vanderbilt (Pediatric Otolaryngology)

  • Includes all otolaryngologic care, including inpatient consultations, for our patients ≤18 years old. The Pediatric Otolaryngology resident team is comprised of a PGY-1, two PGY-2s and a PGY-4.

VA Hospital

  • General Otolaryngology Service: Provides the full range of otolaryngologic services, including inpatient consultations, to veterans at the Nashville VA.  The VA resident team is comprised of a PGY-2 and a PGY-5.
