The Career Advancement Program promotes development of clinical skills (both generalist and specialist) and team building skills. The program was developed by Vanderbilt University Medical Center's Rehabilitation Services with goals of:

  1. Supporting the institutional and departmental mission/vision
  2. Establishing an expectation of ongoing learning and skill refinement
  3. Clinical involvement in research and outcomes
  4. Standardization of performance expectations across clinics
  5. Recruiting and retaining expert clinicians

The program was developed for full time clinical staff including four disciplines:

  • Athletic Trainers
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Occupational Therapist Assistants
  • Physical Therapists
  • Physical Therapist Assistants
  • Exercise Specialists
