South Nashville Community Scholarship

One of the great things about our community is that the neighbors themselves make it a great place to live and work. Neighbors are proactive about eliminating unwanted or illegal activity, whether it be code violations or strangers roaming the neighborhood. Residents also are actively engaged with government officials and offices to make positive change happen. Neighbors build community by planning and hosting festivals, by organizing community gardens and farmer’s markets, and by getting outside their houses to talk to their neighbors and look out for the families on their street.

Another important way residents have built this community is through creation and regular donations to a scholarship fund for area high school seniors. The students demonstrate a commitment to their community and the community responds by helping those students achieve their dreams of higher education. For the past four years, the South Nashville Family Resource Center (SNFRC) has had the privilege of partnering with area businesses, residents and neighborhood organizations to offer this helping hand to deserving students. This scholarship is available to any area high school senior who demonstrates a commitment to their community through service and plans to pursue some form of post-secondary education or career training. Please join us in this effort to help struggling students by donating to the fund or volunteering to serve on the committee that reviews the applications and awards the scholarships.
Make sure you join the fun for our very first community fundraiser this year.
