About Us:

Our unit specializes in pediatric medicine, providing care to children with respiratory, endocrine, and neurological diagnoses; gastrointestinal disorders, renal disorders, and any other medical condition (with the exception of hematology/oncology and cardiac patients).  Our Pediatric Epilepsy Monitoring subspecialty provides treatment services to pediatric epilepsy patients from Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama and Indiana.

Our patient focus is on helping families and patients through difficult times, providing them with education, and most of all, showing compassion to them.

A typical shift for our nurses includes working with a team of nurses and care partners to care for children of all ages. Our unit is a great place to develop a strong foundation in pediatric nursing.

We pride ourselves on our ability to care for our patients and their families just as we would want to be cared for.

Awards and Recognitions:

  • PRC Patient Satisfaction 5 Star Award
  • In 2007, our Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) opened two beds specially wired with hardware which allows us to monitor a child with suspected or known seizures.  It became so busy that in 2008 we added 2 more beds.
