Vanessa Kumpf, PharmD, BCNSP is a Nutrition Support Pharmacy Specialist at the Vanderbilt Center for Human Nutrition. She is an Affiliate Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy, University of Tennessee Health Science Center and is board certified in Nutrition Support Pharmacy Practice.
Dr. Kumpf received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She completed a Clinical Pharmacy Residency at Truman Medical Center, University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Nutrition Support Specialty Residency at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Previous to her current position, she worked in the position of Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Nutrishare, Inc, a home infusion pharmacy providing service to adult and pediatric long term parenteral nutrition patients. Prior to that, she worked in the position of Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Nutrition Support at Methodist Hospital of Indiana in Indianapolis. Her teaching experience includes lecturing and precepting pharmacy students and residents in the area of nutrition support.
Current member of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. She served a 4-year term on the Board of Directors of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition and continues to serve in other leadership roles within the organization. She has given many presentations on a national level addressing nutrition and pharmacy related topics.
