The mission of the Vanderbilt Hemostasis Thrombisis Clinic is to provide the highest quality care for our patients. Such care will include comprehensive care visits, preventive medical services, diagnostic testing, genetic testing and counseling, individual case management, specific treatments as needed, education and training, options for home treatment, and referrals when necessary.

Our Clinic Team emphasizes the empowerment of patients in their own care while also providing opportunities to participate in scientific advances in the diagnosis and treatment of bleeding disorders.

Julie Thomas, MSN, RN

Clinic Coordinator/Research Nurse
Julie Thomas is the Clinic Coordinator for the Vanderbilt Hemostasis Clinic. She also serves as the primary Research Nurse. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 2005, and her Master of Nursing degree in Clinical Research Management from Vanderbilt University in 2010. She has been a member of the Hemostasis-Thrombosis team since 2006. She also serves as a nursing representative on several national hemostasis and hemophilia committees.

Kelly Dawson, RN, BSN
Hemostasis Pediatric Clinical Nurse
Kelly is the clinical nurse for the Hemostasis Clinic. She has her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Florida. She has been in nursing since 2004 with experience in both pediatrics and community health nursing. She joined the team in 2013.

Johnna Oleis, DPh-Pharmacist   
Hemostasis Pharmacist  
Johnna Oleis graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. She has been a pharmacist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center since 1984. She has performed several clinical functions at VUMC such as: attending rounds in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; providing pharmacy involvement / services in the Pediatric Ambulatory Clinic and the Pediatric Endocrinology clinic; and now serving as the pharmacist on the Hemophilia Treatment Team.

Kim Blittle
Hemophilia/Thrombosis , Administrative Assistant I
Kim has been a member of the Hemostasis team since December of 2003. She is responsible for many of the important daily clinic tasks, such as scheduling patient, appointments, and handling patient referrals.

Pam Krueger
Data Management Specialist 
Pam coordinates and assists in the collection, processing, and submission of data on patients according to patient care or research study requirements for the Hemostasis Clinic. She graduated at Hodges University with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer information technology. She joined the Hemostasis team in 2012.
