The Vanderbilt Infection and Immunology Symposium is held annually and brings together hundreds of researchers, across the VU, VUMC and MMC campuses, with interests in clinical and basic science, aspects of infectious disease, immunology, inflammation, and microbiology. This day long event features a number of internationally recognized speakers, from institutions outside of Vanderbilt, with expertise in diverse aspects of infection and immunology. In addition, the schedule includes faculty presenters from the representative hosting Departments, Divisions, and Centers at Vanderbilt; including the Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology, the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, the Division of Adult Infectious Diseases, the Division of Rheumatology and Immunology, the Center for Microbial Pathogenesis, the Center for Immunobiology, and the Vanderbilt Vaccine Center. In addition, a single outstanding postdoctoral fellow and a single outstanding graduate student are included in the schedule. Combined, this exceptional group of speakers ensures a vibrant and diverse program that highlights cutting-edge research in the areas of infection and immunology. Registration is complimentary and includes lunch, refreshments during coffee breaks, and a cocktail reception to complete an extraordinary day of science, collegiality, and community.
